Wedding anniversary today!!!

In 2010 we had a modest wedding, with neither of us caring to show-off or milk it.

We focussed on the religious ceremony; learning our vows and exploring their meaning thoroughly.
I designed my own church service, much to the delight of Father Tony.

Spiritual people loved the earnest simplicity of the wedding and many came afterwards to tell me how wonderful it had been.

Secular people were confused by the lack of spectacle; no limousine, no best man, no maid of honour, no bridesmaids, no disco, no wedding singer, no speeches, no professional photographer, no wedding video. Sorry folks; the wedding was for us, not you!

We had absolutely no commercial nonsense. Nothing to take the focus away from the ceremony.

Our wedding was homespun and real.

Hubby's Mum Joan made the cake with his sister Hellen and they decorated it too. I had my dress made by an ex-colleague Jenny, and Hubby's friend Sylvia altered his suit trousers and jacket.

It's been 2 years now and I must say that the marriage has been great.

Being married to Hubby is better than I could have dreamt of. We just can't get enough of each other.

The wedding was beautiful, but the marriage is better.
Our only regret is being separated by work during the day. We need to find a job where we can work together!!!
